Cast-Resin Current Transformers — Indoor & Outdoor

Current transformers for indoor and outdoor metering and protection installations. Select the construction, insulation level, ratio and accuracy class for the application; indoor and outdoor models have separate specifications.

Indoor model reference: BCS-14D

The BCS-14D covers 3.6–17.5 kV indoor applications. Its published ratings include 60 Hz operation, primary current up to 2,500 A, 1 A or 5 A secondary current and configurations with up to three secondary cores. Accuracy and burden depend on the selected ratio, number of cores and applicable standard.

The model datasheet provides configurations to NBR 6856 and IEC 61869-2, a 1.2 thermal factor and short-circuit thermal current of 80 times rated primary current. Approximate dimensions are 248 × 335 × 170 mm, with a stated weight of 28 kg.

Outdoor selection

Outdoor models include the BCS 11E, BCS 12E and BCS 13E in the manufacturer’s 15 kV outdoor range. Indoor model ratings above must not be applied to outdoor units.

For a quotation, specify installation environment, system voltage, primary and secondary currents, metering or protection duty, accuracy, burden and required number of cores.
