Type, routine and sample testing.

Type tests qualify a design once to verify its fundamental performance, while routine tests are run on every single unit shipped to ensure manufacturing consistency. Sample tests are conducted on a statistical basis to check that the overall production process has not drifted over time.

Understanding the distinction between these test types is critical for asset managers. Knowing which is which tells you exactly what your specific unit was actually subjected to before it left the factory floor.

Quality and Standards

A specification is a promise, and a promise is only worth the evidence behind it.

Anyone can print an accuracy class on a nameplate. What matters is which tests were run, on how many units, against which standard, and whether you can read the report. Standards are cited ANSI and IEEE first, then IEC.

The standards our products are built and tested to.

Our product families are engineered to meet rigorous international requirements including IEEE C57 and IEC 60076 for power transformers, alongside IEEE C37 and IEC 62271 for high-voltage switchgear. We also align with IEEE C57.13 and IEC 61869 for instrument transformers.

Testing methodologies follow the IEEE 400 series and IEC 60502 for cables, IEC 60099 for surge arresters, and IEC 60270 for partial discharge. All measurements utilize high voltage test techniques specified in IEC 60060.

Factory acceptance and witness testing.

Buyers are encouraged to participate in the validation process through formal witness testing, which can be conducted in person at the facility or via secure remote video link. This transparency ensures that the equipment meets all specified performance benchmarks.

The comprehensive test plan is fully reviewed and agreed upon before manufacture begins. This proactive approach ensures that nobody is negotiating pass/fail criteria on the test floor during the final stages of production.

Traceable calibration.

Any measurement is only as good as the calibration chain behind it. To ensure accuracy, all reference dividers, shunts, and calibrators used in our processes carry valid, traceable calibration documentation.

We provide full transparency for our instrumentation accuracy. The relevant calibration certificates are included in the documentation package and travel with the equipment to the customer.

What you receive.

Buyers receive a complete documentation package that includes routine test reports, applicable type test evidence, and detailed technical drawings. This package also contains the verified nameplate data for the specific unit.

The package is rounded out with calibration certificates where relevant to the scope of supply. Additionally, comprehensive installation and maintenance instructions are provided to ensure long-term operational reliability.

When something is wrong.

In the event that an issue is identified, buyers should report it immediately by providing the unit serial number and the specific measurement or observation. This data-driven approach allows for rapid technical assessment.

Our response is led by technical expertise. An engineer works directly on understanding and resolving the failure rather than subjecting the buyer to a standard claims administration process.
