Electrical Tracking & Erosion Test Systems
Automated tracking and erosion testing for electrical insulation materials.
The HVEX Tracking and Erosion Test System, offered by Atlas Energy, evaluates how insulating materials resist conductive carbon tracks and surface erosion under electrical stress and contamination. The system tests up to five specimens simultaneously, helping laboratories compare materials and standardize testing workflows.
Applied voltage, leakage current, series resistance, and contaminant flow are coordinated automatically. A peristaltic pump delivers the contaminating solution, while automatic resistor selection and programmable voltage steps support the test sequence. The dedicated HVEX Tracking software manages specimen and equipment records, test commands, measured data, and graphical results.
Key features
Simultaneous testing of up to five specimens.
Real-time leakage-current monitoring.
Automatic selection of series resistance and contaminant flow.
Sinusoidal filtering to limit test-voltage harmonic distortion.
Segregated test circuitry, acrylic enclosure, and limit-switch interlocks.
Overcurrent protection with pneumatic actuation for current above 60 mA lasting more than two seconds.
