Partial Discharge Calibrators
Portable calibration pulses for partial discharge measurement systems. Atlas Energy supplies the HVEX partial discharge calibrator for setting up and checking PD measuring instruments. The calibrator injects a known signal so the measurement system can be adjusted and verified for pulse magnitude and repetition rate before the required test program.
Key capabilities
Published charge range: 5–1,000 pC.
Positive and negative pulse polarity.
Selectable repetition frequency: 100 Hz or 120 Hz.
Rechargeable internal battery for portable operation.
5 V DC charging input; the datasheet describes an AC adapter accepting 110–240 V AC.
Dimensions: 160 × 125 × 52 mm (approximately 6.3 × 4.9 × 2.0 in).
Published weight: 650 g (approximately 1.4 lb).
Applications
Use the HVEX calibrator with compatible partial discharge measurement systems for oil-filled and dry-type transformers, generators, motors, bushings, and power cables. Select the calibration charge and frequency for the measuring circuit and test procedure.
Calibration and traceability
HVEX describes the instrument for calibration work associated with IEC 60270 and relevant equipment test procedures. An RBC calibration certificate, issued through the Brazilian Calibration Network, is available as a purchasing option. Specify the required certificate, charge points, uncertainty information, and accessories with Atlas Energy when requesting a quotation.
The calibrator supports verification of the PD measurement setup; the measurement instrument and the complete test circuit determine the resulting diagnostic capability.
