Portable Partial Discharge Meter
Portable partial discharge measurement with integrated acquisition and analysis. Atlas Energy supplies the HVEX portable PD system for field and laboratory assessment of high-voltage insulation. An industrial computer, acquisition hardware, PDMS software, and application-specific sensors are integrated in a transportable case for testing transformers, bushings, power cables, motors, generators, breakers, reactors, and capacitors.
Acquisition and analysis
Sampling rate: 500 MSa/s.
Vertical resolution: 12 bits.
Published useful frequency range: 10 kHz–100 MHz.
Digital high-pass, band-pass, and low-pass filtering.
Waveform, Lissajous, and FFT displays.
Phase-resolved partial discharge (PRPD) analysis and AI-assisted pattern interpretation described in the current HVEX configuration.
Sensor configurations
External coupling capacitor for capacitive measurement circuits.
Split-core high-frequency current transformer (HFCT) for suitable grounding conductors and accessible measurement points.
Capacitive-tap couplers for compatible condenser bushings.
Pulse calibrator for setup and verification of the PD measurement circuit.
The published application range covers equipment rated 13.8–500 kV. This is the voltage class of the asset under test, not a direct input-voltage rating for the portable case. Couplers, insulation levels, and connections must be selected for the installation.
PDMS software and reporting
PDMS controls acquisition, filters signals, displays results, and manages equipment records and historical measurements. Reports can be exported in PDF and DOCX formats, with data export for further signal analysis. Automated acquisition and assisted pattern classification support maintenance assessment alongside engineering review and other diagnostic results.
Interfaces and construction
Coaxial and wireless connection options according to configuration.
TCP/IP and Modbus communication; additional interfaces can be specified.
Published protection ratings: IP54 portable case and IP65 coupler.
Typical published system weight: approximately 11.3 kg (24.9 lb), depending on configuration.
HVEX documentation references IEC 60270 and related IEEE and ABNT equipment test procedures. Contact Atlas Energy with your asset type, voltage class, available sensor points, required channels, and reporting needs to define the HVEX system and calibration arrangement.
