Prefabricated / Packaged Substations

Factory-assembled packaged substations combining high-voltage switchgear, a distribution transformer and low-voltage distribution equipment in one enclosure. Equipment is arranged to the project’s single-line diagram for compact indoor or outdoor power distribution.

The referenced compact design has three equipment compartments and provisions for ventilation, corrosion protection and direct installation on a concrete foundation. Door arrangements and enclosure construction can be adapted to the project.

A published example uses a 24 kV insulated RMU at 15 kV service voltage, a 630 A busbar and a 15/0.4 kV transformer rated 250, 400 or 630 kVA. The transformer example has copper windings, Dyn11 connection and ±2 × 2.5% taps. These values describe the referenced configuration rather than every packaged substation.

Applications include urban distribution upgrades, factories, mines, oil and gas facilities and wind-power installations.

For a quotation, provide the single-line diagram, voltage levels, transformer capacity, switching and protection requirements, metering, enclosure requirements and site conditions. Final dimensions, mass and electrical ratings are defined in the approved project drawings.
