Salt Spray & Climate Chambers
Controlled salt fog exposure for accelerated corrosion testing.
Manufactured by HVEX and offered by Atlas Energy, the Salt Spray chamber reproduces saline, corrosive environments to evaluate the resistance of materials, coatings, components, and finished equipment. Automated control and a modular, robust design support repeatable laboratory testing for product development and quality control.
The system combines automatic chamber temperature control with pressure-regulated fog generation. A fog saturator, temperature controller, pressure gauge and regulator, level sensors, and safety alarms support operation. A purge procedure is provided when tests are paused or completed to help prevent contamination.

Models: M-SS500, M-SS700, and M-SS1000.
Usable volume: 500–1,000 L, depending on model (approximately 17.7–35.3 cu ft).
Electrical supply: 220 V, 60 Hz, 32 A; connection requirements are defined for the installation.
Gas outlet: 2 in.
Compressed air: 2–4 kgf/cm² (approximately 28–57 psi).
Deionized water, liquid drainage, and suitable exhaust provisions are required.
Test methods
The manufacturer's datasheet lists salt spray methods including ASTM B117, ISO 9227, DIN 50021, and ABNT NBR 8094, as well as acetic acid and copper-accelerated methods. The required method and chamber configuration are confirmed during specification.
